Thank you for your dedication, and for helping girls hockey in Oshawa continue to grow and be successful! This page is to assist all our volunteers to understand the certifications and requirements needed to be a part of the team.

 

The OWHA Team Official Qualifications Requirements 2023/2024 – refer to this document and ensure you have the qualifications as specified for your role.  Links and information is detailed below specific to the role you are registering to.

 

Do you need to review your qualifications?  Visit Spordle and/or Coach.ca

(Account based data where individuals may review their certifications)

 

If you are assisting as a Manager or Dressing Room attendant;

Ø  Register on RAMP, and under Register on the left menu, choose Executive/Volunteer

Choose a role, or “Other” if there is no role that identifies your position.

Ø  Obtain a Vulnerable Sector Search from Durham Regional Police OR Fill out the Criminal Offence Declaration.  Information and forms are available by clicking on this link.

 

If you are assisting as the Team Trainer or Assistant Trainer

Ø  Register on RAMP, and under Register on the left menu, choose Coach/Staff Registration

Choose a role, or “Trainer”

Ø  Must have completed a Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders certificate (no expiry)

Ø  Hold a valid Hockey Training Certificate

Ø  Obtain a Vulnerable Sector Search from Durham Regional Police OR Fill out the Criminal Offence Declaration. Information and forms are available by clicking on this link.

 

If you are the Coach, Assistant Coach, Staff on Ice or Manager

Ø  Register on RAMP, and under Register on the left menu, choose Coach/Staff Registration

Choose the role ‘staff’ if no other description identifies your postion.

Ø  Must have completed a Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders certificate (no expiry)

Ø  Coaches and Assistant Coaches, refer to the OWHA site for detail on Coaching Information and to Register for upcoming Coach Clinics

Ø  Obtain a Vulnerable Sector Search from Durham Regional Police OR Fill out the Criminal Offence Declaration.  Information and forms are available by clicking on this link.

IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ALL CERTIFICATIONS BE OBTAINED prior to September 1, 2023 for Competitive and October 1, 2023 for HL.  All individuals who do not hold valid certifications cannot be added to the officiation roster, and therefore will not be able to assist the team.

 

REIMBURSEMENTS of CERTIFICATIONS:  Maintain your receipts, and submit the website form

BENCH STAFF REIMBURSEMENTS: to obtain a refund cheque.  

(Cheques will be distributed October 1, 2023 and March 15, 2024 only.)
